Exodus 1-18: The Great Escape

The first half of the book of Exodus tells the thrilling story of how God rescued his people from slavery in Egypt - an event which both defined their identity as a nation and foreshadowed the greater Rescue to come through the gospel of Jesus Christ. This series covers the events of the great escape from slavery - the oppression of the people, the calling of Moses, the plagues which God sent against Egypt, the first Passover, the crossing of the Red Sea, and the arrival at Sinai. To read Exodus is to be amazed by God's grace, to be confronted by God's power, and most of all to meet God himself in his glory.
