Building for the Future

continuing the legacy of McCheyne

In 1835 the young Robert Murray McCheyne arrived in Larbert, where he trained under Rev John Bonar before being appointed minister at St Peter's, Dundee.  His time here was a formative one, and he grew to love the people he served.

Grace Church Larbert was formed in 2013 to serve the communities where McCheyne ministered. We seek to build on his legacy by proclaiming the good news of Christ to the people of Larbert through a ministry founded on the trustworthiness of God's Word.

We want to be a church family which builds on the gospel inheritance we have received, while presenting the good news of Jesus in a way that is meaningful to our culture.  Since we began meeting together, our temporary home at Carrongrange School has served us well.  But in the interests of increasing our gospel opportunities, and building for the long-term future of gospel work in the area, we believe the time has come to seek our own premises.

What an interest I feel in Larbert and Dunipace!  It is like the land of my birth.

Will the Sun of Righteousness ever rise upon it, making its hills and valleys

bright with the light of the knowledge of Jesus?

In 2015 we launched Building for the Future - our project aimed at buying or building premises to serve the church and the local community for the years to come.

The project is led by a Project Board under the authority of the Kirk Session, and a Construction Team including highly qualified industry professionals.

If you'd like to know anything more about the project, or would like to support us, we'd be glad to hear from you - please contact us. You can also support the project by using easyfundraising when you shop online.
